Business Interruption Exposure Calculator
Combine lost net income, continuing expenses and additional operating costs across a restoration period you choose.

Enter your own monthly and one-time exposure estimates. Do not add the same expense to more than one field.
The result covers 6.0 months using only the values entered. It is not a business-interruption policy limit or coverage decision.
Keep your inputs, result and assumptions together. Replace any example values before saving. Review the report to print it or save a PDF through your browser. The file is created on your device.
What the exposure total represents
The tool adds the entered lost net income, continuing expenses and recurring extra costs for the chosen number of months, then adds one-time extra expense. It is a planning total built from your figures.
Review inputs carefully to avoid double-counting. For example, a retained payroll amount should not be included in both monthly net income and continuing expenses.
Business interruption policies are not one standard formula
IBC describes gross earnings, profits-form and extra-expense approaches and emphasizes the period of restoration. Policy triggers, waiting periods, limits, indemnity periods and definitions can materially change the insured result.
